Head Start Parent Expresses Gratitude for BBP
BBP recently received these anonymous words of thanks from the parent of a Head Start student who has been participating in the project:
"The Backpack Project has been totally amazing for our family. It costs so much money to buy healthy food for my son. We are on food stamps and sometimes I'm not always able to make my food stamps last to the end of the month. Before we were able to take part in the Backpack Project I would sometimes have to go to the food pantry and it would be embarrassing. We now get healthy snacks and meals that help our food last and we no longer need to use the food pantry. The food is healthy and my son is so excited when he brings home the food and we put it away together and he can have healthy food choices."
Such feedback is inspiring to every BBP team member, volunteer and donor. Our appreciation to this parent for sharing, and to the Head Start staff for passing along his or her message.
